This Segment of the Kattegattleden: A Hilly Adventure
Embark on the most hilly section of the Kattegattleden. Revel in breathtaking views of the sea and the diverse agricultural landscapes of the Bjärehalvön peninsula.
Kattegattleden winds through central Ängelholm, conveniently next to the train and bus stations, and leads down to the picturesque district of Havsbaden. Here, you’ll traverse forest landscapes, unspoiled nature, and enjoy a vast, sandy beach. Don’t miss the beach kiosk for a taste of Engelholms Glass, the town’s signature ice cream.
The route then hugs the coastline towards Skälderviken, meandering through small hamlets and fishing villages. You’ll cross the Rönne å river, an ideal spot for canoeing or a tranquil SUP journey. The path continues past Skepparkroken and Vejbystrand, veering off at Killebäckstorp towards the charming village of Torekov. Enjoy the cafes, restaurants, and a boat trip to Hallands Väderö island. The journey then delves into the heart of Bjärehalvön peninsula, a landscape carved by centuries of cattle breeding.
The sea reappears at Norrvikens Trädgårdar, with the path leading towards Båstad harbour.
Ängelholm – A City of Activities and Experiences!
Ängelholm, nestled in Skälderviken bay between the Bjärehalvön and Kullahalvön peninsulas, boasts six kilometers of sandy beaches, clear waters, and inviting dunes. The Rönne å river adds charm to the city, perfect for canoeing and fishing. During summer, a ride on the Laxen sightseeing boat is a treat.
In Ängelholms Hembygdspark, located in a deciduous forest in the town center, you’ll find a family-friendly oasis with a Nordic animal zoo, various museums, and an exciting playground. Dare to explore the treetop walkway?
The railway and Ängelholm aviation museums cater to families, while the town center features quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants serving local delights.
