Starting in Helsingborg, the bike route heads north, taking you past the majestic Sofiero Palace and the stunning beaches of Domsten and Viken. The path runs close to the water, offering mesmerizing views of the shimmering Öresund strait.
Kattegattleden, either beginning or ending in Helsingborg, one of the Nordic region’s oldest cities, offers a memorable journey. The initial section takes you from the city center to Gröningen and Fria bad, two popular beach spots perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying ice cream. Relax for a bit because an uphill stretch awaits. Close by are Sofiero Palace and Sofiero Farm, featuring a bakery and café worth visiting.
The route continues north, passing through quaint fishing villages and marinas like Domsten and Viken. Near Viken, consider a side trip to Beredskapsmuseet, Sweden’s unique military defense museum located in an underground WWII facility.
As you head towards Höganäs, savor the view of the Öresund strait before reaching Kvickbadet beach, just south of Höganäs harbor.
